BLITZBALL
LEAGUE

One Star, One Sport, One Ball

What is
Blitzball

First appearing in Final Fantasy X, Blitzball is one of the most unique mini-games in the Final Fantasy Universe. In it's lore, Blitzball is a popular pastime in the world of Spira and has been since Zanarkand was destroyed 1,000 years before the start of Final Fantasy X, and allows the fans to take their minds off of the ever present threat of Sin.Blitzball is an aquatic contact sport, and is played underwater in a giant Spherical Pool. The sport itself incorporates elements of Soccer, American Football, and Water Polo. So you'll see a lot of physical punches, kicks, shoves and knockouts over the course of a match! There’s also some flair to each shot with the help of a lil bit of magic!

How is it played in FFXIV?In Final Fantasy XIV, the EBL introduces Blitzball as a roleplaying turn-based team game! You will pick a Class that gives you access to different actions, and use those actions in conjunction with your team to try and get the ball past the enemy goalkeeper. All actions happen simultaneously, so Blitzball is a bit unpredictable. The exact same moment you decide you want to move to catch the ball may be when an enemy wants to tackle you, and you’ll both need to roll against each other to see which action comes out on top. Don’t worry -- there’s an organized turn structure and referees on tap to make sure this part runs smoothly! You are encouraged to get creative when it comes to your actions and can assume you have aether and gadgets at your disposal when you emote. Do you move by swimming? Or by propulsion devices attached to your feet? Do you send illusions of balls into the goal to confuse the Goalie? Or will you master the art of the Jecht Shot?? Remember, be mindful not to break any of the rules when you’re getting wild!

I. CHARITY

The EBL, and its predecessor the HBA, are founded as charity initiatives to help raise funds for specific charities. From merch sales to direct donations, the proceeds generated through the EBL go towards some charity that is identified each season.

II. PAST CHARITIES

2024//Season 2Extra Life
Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network®. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round for local children's hospitals to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.
2025//Season 3Doctors Without Borders
This year the EBL is happy to support the charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) as they continue their mission to make sure that all peoples wounded from war, food scarcity, and disease are able to receive treatment. Each dollar given is able to help fund the time of doctors, supplies for treatment, and medicine needed by peoples across the world.
This year we play so that everyone in the world can be healthy enough to play along with us.

III. EBL HISTORY/LORE

We're not claiming this to be the definitive origin, but rather the origin the EBL supportsWhere did Blitzball start in Eorzea? What is its origin story? Before it was even known as Blitzball, it was known as Tideball (or, as called by the Kojin priests, “Kaiten-no-Tama,” the Turning Sphere). Rather than being a sport, it was known as a ritual exercise performed underwater. Kojin would maneuver a lacquered sphere carved from coral and sealed with alchemical resin, passing it between swimmers while avoiding being caught by the opposing team. This served not only to train their agility in the water, but also to demonstrate their devotion to the treasures they guarded. Victory was said to symbolize mastery over the currents, and the coral sphere itself represented the ebb and flow of the tide.Only when traders began to arrive in the Far East did sailors witness the game being played by the Kojin. Sailors then began to adapt the game to meet their own needs. The coral ball was replaced by a leather sphere filled with air, matches were held in harbor coves or tidal pools rather than underwater, and the rules were simplified to favor speed and scoring goals. This is also where the name Tideball came from. As time passed, Far Eastern merchant crews used the game to pass time during long voyages. The turning point came when merchant ships began traveling between Hingashi and Eorzea, introducing the sport to the West. The confederates of Limsa immediately took to it, where sailors and pirates once again altered the sport to fit their needs. Goals were mounted on floating frames or ship rigging, matches were held inside harbor nets or magically contained water spheres, and teams named positions and developed tactical plays. It was then given the name Blitzball, a reference to the lightning-quick passes and explosive tackles favored by Maelstrom sailors. From there, the game continued to spread toward the western continents, where leagues began to form, inviting teams from around the star to join them. With this, the EBL was created as one of those leagues, and to this day they continue inviting those who prove themselves to be worthy opponents to compete for a chance at winning the cup.

EBL BOARD MEMBERS

What are Board members in the EBL? The Board members serve as the governing body responsible for strategic oversight, policy development, and ensuring the integrity of the sport. They establish rules and regulations, manage finances, and make critical decisions about the organization’s direction. Typically composed of individuals with diverse expertise—including former athletes, business leaders, and legal professionals—the board provides accountability while balancing the interests of athletes, coaches, fans, and sponsors. Their ultimate goal is to promote the sport’s growth and sustainability while maintaining its competitive integrity.

Home City: Ala Mhigo - Gyr Abania

Owner: Gyr Abania Homefront Collective - A centralized collective of Orphanages and Veteran's Affairs. They donate to the Liberator's and help fund the Couerlfist Stadium as a means of providing youth activites and sports therapy would wounded Veteran's and adventurers.
Endure and rise againThis is something Ala Mhigo and its brothers and sisters are far too familiar with. Despite the deep scars left by the Mad King and the war that followed, the Ala Mhigo Liberators are more than a Blitzball team — they are a living symbol of a nation that refuses to kneel. Rising from the ashes of the Garlean war, their people sought more than reconstruction; they sought identity.Youth who had grown up under occupation turned to sport to reclaim their pride without bloodshed, having heard of a game called Blitzball that came all the way from Limsa. They weren’t sure of its origins, but one thing was certain: the first game was held in the waters of the Velodyna River. What began as an exhibition match on Liberation Day became a yearly tradition, and eventually turned into a professional team recognized by the EBL.Much like their history, the Liberators have had a rough go of it during their time in the EBL, but they never back down. They’re known for their relentless pressure, battle-forged defense, and explosive counters in the sphere. They favor endurance over finesse. Every match is treated like a campaign; every goal is hard-earned.During Season Three, they managed to make it to the semifinals undefeated in their division. Just because their ambitions were stopped twice by Ishgard doesn’t mean they won’t come back with the same energy — if not more. They’ve shown Tural that same energy when proving to their previous captain how strong they still are. Regardless of their rivalries between Ishgard and Tural, it’s all in good sport.

Salt and swords — NEVER SURRENDER!Outside of the sphere, the Liberators are not celebrities; they’re representatives. Many people on the team are refugees, descendants of resistance fighters, or fought in the war themselves. It’s not uncommon to see veterans standing in the crowds during their games wearing faded colors or bands, much happier to see the following generations fighting in the water rather than on the blood-soaked dirt of their homeland. To others, the Liberators are seen as intense, disciplined, and intimidating. Commentators may describe them as “a team that plays like it still has something to prove.” Maybe they do, because to them freedom is not a trophy — it’s something defended in every match. But those on the Liberators are very much down-to-earth despite their reputation. They enjoy get-togethers after games, celebrate their teammates’ namedays, and partake in the occasional fight night. They also train together in the sphere or even wrangle coeurls. They volunteer for veterans and orphanages, providing help where it’s needed and passing on the message to endure in spite of it all. When they step into the sphere, they’re not chasing glory or fame. They carry the weight of a nation that bled for the right to stand on its own soil. The Liberators don’t forget where they came from, and they do not let others forget either. In every block, tackle, taunt, rally, and goal, there is a promise tied to it — that Ala Mhigo will endure, rise, and never bow its head again.

Salt and swords — NEVER SURRENDER!

Home Stadium: The Lichenweed Stadium
Owned by: Fen-Yll Fineries, Black Rabbit Traders, Bladed Quill Mercantile
One of the original eight teams at the birth of the league, shrouded by the Twelveswood's blessing. Their wildling plays are erratic as if the Elementals commanded their every move in the Sphere.Upon their face is the sacred Ash Mask, used to protect the wearer from Woodsin. Their faces obscured and their motives unknown, these Blitzers have melded Wind Materia to the mask to let them breathe underwater. Making escape from the Twelveswood's judgement all the harder to achieve. The Greenswrath Organization also does community outreach to greatly aid the people within the Black Shroud who call it their home. Often spending time between games doing charity work or delivering supplies to those who are without. They believe to avoid incurring Woodsin and upsetting the Elementals, the Shroud-folk must be willing to open their arms to their neighbor and lend support where they can.

For the Twelveswood may grant many a Boon to it's people, it comes with a strict adherence of not taking gluttonously. The team upholds several traditions and superstitions behind everything they do. From good luck rituals to curse breaking, they have a charm, trinket, or way of warding off the bad luck.Once in the Sphere their rancor is unleashed and they strike with ferocity at every chance they get. Their demands are made clear from the outset:

BOW TO THE TWELEVSWOOD
OR SUFFER THE GREENSWRATH!

Home City: Ishgard
Home Stadium: St. Daniffen Arena
Owner: The Holy See and the Houses of Ishgard (Joint Partnership)
The Ishgard Skystrikers have a long history, a legacy, both fraught and fierce in the tapestry it has woven. Even before the season began, the team’s name faced an uncertain future, through a combination of those answering the call, and anonymous donations into the coffers that fund the team, new life, and a renewed team emerged to face the season. Through the efforts of Salina Moonfall and Helios Silberfluegel, but more so those who answered their call, a new purpose was forged and cultivated. A purpose born of Unity, regardless of status, history, or geography, a reflection not just of what Ishgard was, but of what it could be.The season the Skystrikers went on to write was writ by a collection of rookie players, and a handful of veterans to the sphere. Through ever tightening teamwork, and a propensity to take things right to the buzzer and beyond, winning out through nail biter after nail biter, and sudden death victories, a reputation was forged that nipped at the heels of their competitors all season long. The team’s energy only grew as the season progressed, eventually seeing them into the championship, and a rematch against the equally driven Naadominators.

Though they fell short of victory, and the cup, the victory they claimed was one born of the unity between each other, and their fellow teams, a mutual respect. The belief that “We are number one”.While the cup wasn’t brought home, the Skystrikers have seen a ground swell of support at home. Excess funds as well as time being channeled into local donations and investments, all of which has seen the representatives of the noble houses in good spirits. While the interests of the noble houses remains a topic that engenders debate among the representatives at times, such debates for the moment seem to resolve themselves peaceably, though the team’s more anonymous and indirect benefactors seem to exercise measured influence that keeps the peace at present. The Fury surely watches over them, and looks toward their future and what worthy battles it may hold for Ishgard’s own Skystrikers.

STRIKE HIGH,
STRIKE HARD!

Home City: Kugane
Home Stadium: Ryōken Ga Gotoku Sutajiamu (Like A Hound Stadium)
Owner: The Mifune Clan and Wasshoi Entertainment
Formed in the wake of the EBL’s restructuring, the Kugane Daigoros didn’t walk into the league with clean boots or noble sponsors. The Daigoros were originally founded years before the EBL's modern era—not as a team of athletes, but as a tool of the Kugane Yakuza clans. Whispers say the team was originally assembled as a way to settle debts, broker alliances, and launder influence through sport. Whether that’s true or not, no one's been brave enough to say so publicly.Publicly, it was billed as a sporting initiative. Privately, it served a far more calculated purpose:A money-laundering front, allowing illicit gil to be cycled through match sponsorships, "ticket sales," and player contracts. A talent funnel for recruiting promising fighters, runners, and mercenaries into the criminal underworld. And most notably, a neutral political space, where rival clans could hash out deals and power plays under the guise of sport.Their name, Daigoros, comes from an old Hingan myth about guardian hounds that protected sailors and merchants along the Ruby Sea’s shadowy coasts. But to most who see them take the sphere, the name means something else entirely—pack loyalty, sharp tactics, and a code of honor etched in bone.In the Daigoros’ early days, their motto was simple and unflinching:“Win by any means necessary—but do not bring dishonor to the name.”They would bribe, scheme, intimidate, and bend every rule that wasn’t nailed down—so long as the win wasn’t tainted by cowardice or betrayal. To lose was acceptable. To cheat was forgivable. But to shame the team in the eyes of its backers, the clans, or the crowd? Unthinkable. The earliest team rosters were filled with drifters, debt-ridden mercenaries, and eager street-level footsoldiers hoping to earn favor with the clans. Skill with a sphere was secondary to usefulness to the syndicates. The Mifune Clan was one of the first to see the potential beyond politics and profit. They weren’t among the original founding clans of the team, but they were quick to buy in—and to begin positioning their own within its ranks.

Years later, when Makoto Mifune rose to become head of the clan, she fought for the right to captain the Daigoros herself. At first, it was seen as a symbolic gesture—until her leadership drove the team to a hard-earned, honorable season that changed how the Daigoros were perceived. After that turning point, Makoto, Chagatai, and several veteran players pooled their resources—and their leverage—to force the other clans to step back. Now, the team is "technically" owned by the Mifune Clan, but in truth? It belongs to the players. No longer a pawn in the clans’ games, the Daigoros now serve their own purpose: to play with strength, to protect their own, and to dominate the league on their terms. The Daigoros don’t do “downtime.” When they’re not training or playing, they’re living the only way they know how—loud, fast, and surrounded by their own.Their favorite pastimes include:Illegal drift-lantern races across the Ruby Sea, betting gil, favors, and occasionally hair. Underground dice parlors and card tables run by their own fans and former players. Sake-fueled tattoo competitions, where players and supporters get new ink to commemorate wins, grudges, or milestones.Local festival appearances, especially those with fireworks—Daigoros are known to sponsor explosive finale shows. Regular visits to "safe" parlors and bathhouses, where clan gossip, match replays, and the occasional shady deal flow freely.Despite their reputation, the Daigoros give back when they can—helping vendors set up stalls during games and quietly supporting struggling families tied to the team.Wherever they go, the chant follows:
“Wasshoi!”
Over time, the team evolved. they did not erase the past—but refined it. The creed remains, but with sharper clarity:Honor in the Sphere. Loyalty outside it. No Hound Hunts alone —EVER.

WASSHOI!

Home City: Limsa Lominsa, Vylbrand, Aldenard
Home Stadium: The Deadman's Gallows
Owner: Fenris Co. (Tuasun Ito-Chaontis) sponsored by Star Garden
When the EBL entered into its new, present-day structure, teams were allowed to reformat, culminating in the revision of the league prior to the "first" season as we know it. A benefactor seeking redemption for past crimes against his homeland was the first to step up to offer his coin to sign the very first contract under the new team's name, the Barracuda. The contract was given to the Barracuda's first Captain, Tuasun Ito-Chaontis, who took on the face of the organization while their benefactor remained anonymous to all else, save the council of the Lominsan thalassocracy under the leadership of Chief Admiral Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn. The Barracuda are so named for the Knights of the Barracuda, the original naval power in the world. The Barracuda were the original dispensers of justice in Lominsan waters, maintaining the regulation of piracy under the city-state's flag. Eventually, with the consolidation of the city-state and the rise of stricter piracy laws under Merlwyb, the Barracuda were folded into the fearsome Crimson Fleet that, along with the Yellowjackets, comprises the Maelstrom. Of the original nine squadrons that belonged to the Barracuda, only five still remain. It is in honor of this naval force that proved vital in the fight leading up to the Seventh Umbral Calamity that the Limsa Lominsa Barracuda are named.Eventually, through the success of the team and several members gaining all-star status in their first season, the Barracuda's benefactor revealed himself to the team. Those trained in the Machinist disciplines would know the man as Rostnsthal, a name that simply means "rusty steel".

But to those of Lominsan birth, they would know him as the treacherous Sthalmann Sthalmannsyn. The former Commodore of the Barracuda and disgraced pirate who attempted an assassination of the former admiral and was forced into obscurity. After being exonerated of his crime and his pockets burgeoning with money from his position at the Skysteel Manufactory, Sthalmann came back to pool his resources into a team he believed could be a symbol for the spirit of Limsa. The Barracuda maintained this sense of national pride, redefining what it meant for the team when Captains Laguz and Tuasun declared the second season of the team would be about unity. These competitions do not divide the world but instead bring them together to speak the universal language of Blitzball. The team maintained that since Limsa Lominsa is the world's largest port, it is one of the great melting pots of culture in the world. This was personified by the team members dedicated to the crimson and black who weren't even Lominsan citizens. And that this was part of the spirit of the nation that they represented, they took it on themselves to carry pride not just for their team, but for the EBL as a whole. And while they fell short of the cup, the Barracuda felt they had been successful in their mission to touch base with their competitors. Through spreading the love of the game and maintaining the highest sense of decorum, the Barracuda left their mark on the league and brought honor to a nation founded by pirates.

SHINE ON,
RADZ-AT-HAN!

Home City: Old Sharlayan, The Northern Empty
Home Stadium: Nautilus Stadium
'Owned' by: The S.T.A.R.S Committee (Sharlayan Team Athletics and Research Sanctions)
Stadium Location: Lakeland, Sullen Isles (Lap Island)
The Archon Aces were originally born as a college-level athletics initiative. Simply created by an assembly of nutritionists and health-nuts each combining their resources to encourage a future of active and healthier Scholars. Their initial footings into the EBL league proper were led by a college-level team of Sharlayans. Known less for their academics and more for their overall 'free-spirited' nature. They were also mirrored by their equally-natured sponsor, Professor Thalakies. After their initial college-level run in the Blitzball majors, a sabbatical was spent gathering data and revising their approach. In the end, the STARS Committee reformed and devised a more ‘regulated’ team of Blitzball players. This time, seated by leadership more aligned towards their athletic-forward initiative. Now with more open borders, the Sharlayans that make up the isle strive to achieve a varied society. Famously known for eccentric researchers and thinkers, in reality their society is a melting pot.

Some are passerby Adventurers, some Gleaners invested on the progress of another’s behalf. Some are total foreigners here on various scholarships while others are born and raised educated minds itching for more. The S.T.A.R.S. Committee continues to sponsor the Archon Aces as a model team to promote the practical application marrying strategic statistics and healthy initiatives (aka, we believe it is very possible to be an “Athletic” Nerd). You don’t have to be the smartest cookie. Just the most earnest. Because the most ambitious of the bunch always aim high: Aces High.Despite being owned by committee, S.T.A.R.S. remains very hands-off on the overall Archon Ace management. Prior each season, Leadership is interviewed and considered via multiple assemblies. As far as the committee is concerned, so long as the team can influence some level of athleticism and/or healthy living in a positive fashion, they can do whatever they please.

ACES HIGH!

Home City: Tuliyollal
Home Stadium: Sol Viajante Stadium
Sol Viajante Stadium was constructed by the Wing of Reflection near Dock Poga as part of its mission to bring more tourists to Tural.
Operator: Wing of Reflection, Turali Travel Agency
Tural, a land once known as the New World.Around eighty years ago, the first Dawnservant Gulool Ja Ja started a journey that would end with the creation of Tuliyollal. Encountering the Eorzean explorer Ketenramm, the two travelled the lands of Tural, gathering new companions as they travelled. Culminating with the imprisonment of Valigarmanda – the Skyruin – and ending the war between the Mamool Ja and the Xbr’aal. This would cause him to be elevated to become the first Dawnservant of Tuliyollal, a position that he held until age caught up to him. Holding a new Rite of Succession, he chose the Vow of Resolve Wuk Lumat to succeed him. Vow Wuk Lamat chose to also have the Vow of Reason Koana assist her in her duties.During the first season, Captains Kesac and Korudo were brought in by the Wing of Reflection to help build an official Blitzball team by the idea of Vow Koana. They were tasked as Captains to not only man the newly-formed team but to also create strong connections across the other nations around Etheirys through the sport of Blitzball, and had a strong first season in setting the foundation of their presence within the league.

In addition to the creation of a Blitzball team representing Tuliyollal, the Wing of Reflection had selected the Turali Travel Agency to be represented as a sponsor for the team by being in charge of giving Dock Poga the honor of being the location of the Tuliyollal Vidraal’s headquarters and for the Sol Viajante Stadium. The Tuliyollal Vidraal had a strong start in their first season. While they did not advance to the playoffs, they left a strong impression on the core values of what the team represented through not only their actions inside of the blitzsphere but outside as a team as well, going as far as to create an even stronger alliance towards Radz-at-Han through the nature of the sport as kindred fans of Blitzball. With their first season in the books, the Tuliyollal Vidraal are looking to blaze a path into the future. With whatever new dawn may await the team, they look to meet it together. A team that may be from different backgrounds – either within Tural or from outside – looking to come together. A family. Much like Dawnservant united the continent before, this is who Tuliyollal is. A team that is looking to seize this new dawn for themselves.

SEIZE THE DAWN!

Home City: Ul'dah of Thanalan
Home Stadium: Sultana's Chalice Stadium
Owned by the Ul Dynasty, but exclusively serviced, staffed, and upkept by a partnership between Beastmode Games and C'atoh owns/operates the Sand Surfers in the non-EBL time.
Owner: Beastmode Games and Steel Feathers LLC
Despite being an Ul'dahni team, the High Rollers focus on Ul'dah's strongest cultural import, foreigners. The team specifically elects to ignore place of birth or residence when considering team members, such that it doesn't even appear on their scouting information forms, and focuses instead of whether or not the player seems well adapted to improvisation. The team has been built and made a name for itself on the principle of taking risks, doing the daring play, and living the "go big or go home" style. They believe that winning isn't enough, you have to win by taking risks and overcoming them. The biggest tradition of the High Rollers has ironically been change. Each season they've selected a new interpretation of "high roller" meaning and used that as a theme for their seasons, causing them to switch tactics, presentation, and general aesthetic.
Beyond that, they've incorporated community building. Each season their respective events are extended as invitation to other teams, to form bonds and make memories. Everyone in the EBL has been invited to a High Roller party.
The team was founded when the EBL began, as East sought to form a new team for Ul'dah in this league, to continue his oversight on Ul'dah's blitzball operations, and to create a new image for Ul'dah through their blitzball team; he loves his Gil Turtle team, but he didn't want Ul'dah to always be the heels. After its establishment, East just began what became the team's scouting practice, looking for people who were not only willing but excited to do crazy stuff in and out of matches. The team is not recommended for the faint of heart or people with heart conditions who listen to their doctors; an irony given East has a heart condition and an angry doctor. For fun the team does all manner of things, depending on the season. Whatever the theme is, they make games of it. Live Action Role Play, Racing, Stunts, and whatever will be brought next!

Between games and specific events the team is actually pretty quiet. While everyone keeps in touch, most of the teammates have busy lives outside of the season, and as such they use their time to manage those.Season training is pretty stock standard for the High Rollers. Accuracy and precision training is paramount, along with acrobatics. Most of their shennanigans revolve around weird positions and strange techniques, so focusing in on basic targeting and movement is key above anything else.Rival is a strong word for a team that makes luck and statistics their biggest rival, but they tend to form a season rivalry with whoever they face in the first game of the major season. It gives it a little flavor and fun!East and C'atoh have been Captains since the beginning of the team. For the first season East was the only official Captain, but C'atoh made himself standout as a teammeber and became the unofficial co-Captain before becoming official in the second season. C'atoh also serves as the Captain and Owner of the Sagolii Sand Surfers, who will one day surely make it to the major leagues and bring up a big question for Thanalan's representatives. Ideally nothing will go wrong ever. There is a team chant, but much like the theme, it tends to change each season.
They keep the Hype Squad on their toes.
The one that has survived the changes every season has been a call and response cheer.
High Rollers! ROLL HIGH!East plays Captain because it's just what he is used to and what he enjoys. While he loves the game and being part of it, he can't deny the Ul'dahni instinct to just manage and run something as well. C'atoh fills in as a Captain 'cause he enjoys what Ul'dah is, and he enjoys being part of leading it. Working with East has been a fun endeavor he intends to continue. The goal is to have fun. Every season, win or lose, just have fun.

HIGH ROLLERS, ROLL HIGH!

Home City: Valnain
Home Stadium: Legion's Freedom Stadium
Owner: Free ownership of the people of Valnain, kept and maintained by it's people.
Chaos. To be a Red Comet, that has always been a simple prerequisite. Embody chaos and thrive in it. It was never meant to be that simple. To be a Red Comet, you have to look at the whole. What truly makes something or someone chaotic? Their behavior? Their desires? Their actions? No, that would be too easy. To truly understand the Comets, you would need to look further, back to a time when things were not as black and white, or in this case, red and black.Valnain has always been a community of different individuals. People from all aspects of life, coming together to live, grow and prosper as a single unit. From mercenaries, to adventurers, to the craftsmen and gatherers of our society, everyone was and remains unique to their choice of lifestyle. Though, all very much different, one thing always remained the same between each adult, child and otherwise: The Will of Fire. A concept that doesn't seem like much more than a mantra to most, but a way of life that each and every individual of Valnain must have to survive.Valnain hasn't always been at peace. Older generations of this community remember the wars and battles of the past and what it did to our families. Losing people to fights, kidnappings, the random vanishings of those we held dear. It's a lot for people to hold on to and still manage to live a peaceful and prosperous life. Something the people of old established was a thing that gave each member of Valnain hope for the future. Something to hold on to and believe in when nothing else seemed to help. When Gods and deities seemed to ignore a passionate prayer. They called it something that every person had deep inside of them. Something that never blew out no matter how hard the gale, that no amount of tides could wash away. The Will of Fire.

This. This is what embodies a true member of Valnain. The latent desires and dreams and the ability to move past any troubles, no matter how much effort it takes. It's something to truly believe in, no matter the strive.Valnain has had it's ups and downs when it comes to the sport, and in most cases, dreams were left unfinished each season. Hopes were left in the sphere, just short of what they wanted to achieve. The difference between other teams and Valnain is exactly that. A Red Comet always keeps The Will of Fire alive, no matter the trials or tribulations. Each season, we come back, goals and dreams in our hearts and the desire to see those come to reality. You ask, what makes that any different than other teams? It doesn't take most long to know exactly what each season brings.Chaos.Chaos can't be contained. Controlled. It is a living, breathing entity that everyone must deal with. Blitzball is no different. Each and every season, chaos throws things to the winds, demanding we dance for it's entertainment. To get a taste at what our dreams and desires ask of us. Valnain understands this and /thrives/ in it. We don't see games as bad luck or poor plays. We see everything as chaos tugging at the strings, watching and waiting to see what we do to work around it. Though that be victory or defeat, Valnain respects chaos' decisions in life and flow along side it, rather than fight against it.Next season will be no different. With chaos bringing new and exciting things to the sphere, new and veteran players aiming to go all the way to the cup, and the chance for Valnain to restablish themselves as the Reins of Chaos, we dare the other teams to try and outmaneuver us in all aspects of the game. Lady Chaos herself chose us as her champions, and whether thats to win the whole thing, or simply throw a wrench into the peace of other team's plans, we will meet that full strength, with pride in our hearts and smiles on our faces.

FOR LADY CHAOS!

"Teamwork is the beauty of our sport, where you have a team acting as one. You become selfless."

Rules and regulations

One Star, One Sport, One Ball
We're glad to have you here with us! Before you continue, please read our terms and conditions below:
1) REAL LIFE ALWAYS COMES FIRST- RLACF
First and foremost, we all come to roleplay to have a fun escape from our daily lives, and it should never be our priority. Feel free to withdraw your participation if your Real Life responsibilities impact your time in the EBL. We shall always be here; please take care of yourself.
2) RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS
Blitzball is a competitive sport and RP outlet. Do not let it cloud your judgment. Do not rudely act upon or accuse another player of cheating. There will be no threats, slurs, harassment, or discriminatory behavior to anyone; under no circumstances will such actions ever be permitted. Good sportsmanship is Mandatory.
If you feel harassed to a discriminatory level, don't hesitate to contact the Administration. Evidence of these acts will also help us resolve this situation (Please see Rule #8); without it, we are going off of hearsay, which only lets us get so far.Suppose you are found to be sexually harassing or promoting any level of discrimination. In that case, the Board withholds the right to remove and blacklist the offender from the EBL for the safety of our community.3) RESPECT YOUR COMMUNITY
Out of Character disappointments in losing matches will happen. You may feel moments or actions were unfair. Please treat your Teammates, your Opponents, and your EBL staff courteously. Text and voice channels must be kept respectful and cordial, no matter the outcome. No excessive complaining, claims of cheating, or demoralizing attitudes. Please don't use IC behavior that is overly disruptive to an event's sportsmanship, i.e., evocative bragging, aggressive sulking/complaints over outcomes, questioning of rules, etc.
4) REPRESENTING OUR ORGANIZATION
Participating in this version of Blitzball and participating in the EBL means you are an active Representative of the EBL and our community's quality. Outside of events in the discord server, people will hold you and yours to a standard that can be tarnished. Maintain your best behavior in-game, online, and on social media. Any who takes malicious and deliberate actions will be removed from the EBL pending review.
5) AVOID NSFW CONTENT
We understand that Blitzball is a contact sport and intend to keep it as such. However, we must reiterate we have no interest in contact of an adult nature. That means posts may take a more graphic or mature shift during Blitzball matches and EBL Events. Please respect that the Etheryian Blitzball League built this Server and the events to offer a fun and safe environment for various age groups. Do not post any overly graphic depictions of injuries or actions during events. Do not post any sexual screenshots or similar conversations on any of our channels.
6) PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR AVAILIBILITY
Not everyone can attend every event. But it must be stressed to PLEASE consider your availability for matches and sponsored events. While the EBL is willing to try to adapt, signing up for the EBL means you are eager to commit to the FULL LENGTH of all matches held that day. If your schedule means you cannot make most of your matches, we advise you to sign up as a Free Agent or Flex position. Everyone will get to play, but preventing confusion over player availability allows us to keep track of who has and has yet to get field time.
7) DO NOT "MINI-MOD"
If you see someone breaking the rules or instigating conflict with yourself or others, do not engage. Alert anyone on the staff instead, and allow us to handle the matter. Moderation can only happen if we're made known of the situation. Do not join in to argue back; joining in will only spiral the situation out of control.
8) IF THERE IS AN ISSUE, PLEASE PROVIDE EVIDENCE
The Administration and Staff will handle any infractions within the EBL. Please provide factual evidence that will aid our review; this includes chat logs, witnesses, time of occurrence, and date of incident. If it happened in a voice channel, provide the names of others in the call so we may investigate and corroborate the facts.
HANDLING GRIEVANCES WILL TAKE TIME. ALLOW US TO ACT.9) POLITELY DISENGAGE
There are sometimes topics that come up in conversation that others may find uncomfortable; please try to be respectful if asked to change issues. Do not ask or inquire about the reasoning. Change the topic.
10) MAINTAIN CHANNEL TOPIC
Please try to keep on-topic. Dedicated channels are to be kept clear of unnecessary chatter. We welcome light commentary but make sure if a topic is going on long, move it to the relevant channel. Should a channel not exist, please use the suggestion box to leave recommendations.
11) IRL POLITICS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS SERVER
The EBL is a Blitzball Discord dedicated to the love of the game. To many, politics are a normal part of their life. We request you keep them out of this server. This rule will not change by affiliation or opinions held. There are hundreds of other Discord Servers out there dedicated to Politics; take it to them.
WE ARE A BLITZBALL RP COMMUNITY. This community is an escape from venting, political humor, and controversial statements.12) ADMINISTRATOR'S PRIVILEGE
Our team withholds the right to remove individuals, or groups, from the discord server, related linkshells, or teams following a staff review of a given situation. The abovementioned issues can call for such Reviews for actions not covered in the above rules. Including, but not limited to, continuous Absences, disrespect of other players, poor sportsmanship, and any conflicting belief with the EBL's values.

Representing: The Azim Steppe
Home Stadium:
Owner: The Shinbon Clan
Inspired by a boastful night in Reunion during the tsagaan sar festival, the Naadominators embody the bold spirit and brutal but cunning instinct of the mightiest of athletes on the Steppe. The Naadominators were founded as the EBL was first forming by Lakaera and are owned, funded, and operated by her clan, the Shinbon. Likening themselves more as a mercenary band representing the Steppe than a strictly traditional Xaelic clan, this team welcomes anyone and everyone brave enough to stomach their high stress and high risk specialty. In the sphere, the Naadominators aren't afraid to pile in on the ball or lock up the center zone in a stalemate. Despite their chaotic style, they tend to be methodical in their aggression. Of course, their ultimate strategy has never been a crushing victory or meticulous placement. Sometimes it seems like even to their own detriment, they delight in dragging their foes kicking and screaming into the infamous shoogout. No team is more comfortable in the high stakes scenario of overtime and tiebreaking than the Naadominators.

Post match, it has become a cool-off tradition for the team to retreat back to the Terrarium concert hall along with any other fans or players for a post-game pizza party. The team is traditionally captained by their founder, Lakaera. In recent years she's been supported by their veteran Midfielder and Goalie, Beki and Demetrius of the Dotharl clans.By tradition, the Naadominators often set their sights on the High Rollers as their first scrimmage rivals of the season, the Radiance as the team most dangerous to them during the season, and it would be folly to discount the Skystrikers as their two-time foes in the finals.Having battled in the championship match of the first three seasons of the EBL and taking back to back championships, no one can doubt the potential this team has to dominate the competition.

SHOOG!

Home City: N/A
Home Stadium: The Queen's Stadium. Golmore Jungle, near the reclaimed docks of Gangos.
Owner: Bozjan Resistance
In the wake of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, when the banners of the city states flew once more over a realm reborn, there were those in Bozja who refused to let their homeland be remembered only for war, gunmetal, and the echo of magitek engines. They would be remembered for thunder.Bozja has always been a land of volatile brilliance—home to engineers, resistance fighters, and prodigies of destructive ingenuity. After the fall of the IVth Imperial Legion and the long struggle that culminated upon the Bozjan Southern Front, a new generation sought to channel that same explosive spirit into something that built pride rather than shattered cities. From former resistance sappers, gunbreakers, and Skysteel machinists came an idea both audacious and absurd: What if we weaponized sport instead of powder? Inspired by tales from Aldenard of an aquatic contest known as “Blitzball,” a cadre of Bozjan engineers set about recreating it—though, being Bozjan, they made certain improvements. Thus were born the Bozja Manatriggers. Why “Manatriggers”?Traditional Blitzball relies on physical prowess and aquatic agility. The Manatriggers rely on detonations. Each player wears a custom aetheric harness—descended from battlefield trigger-cores once used to regulate magitek charges.

These harnesses convert ambient aether into concussive bursts, allowing players to rocket across the sphere in controlled mana-surges, redirect the ball with mid-water shockwaves, and execute synchronized “Chain Triggers” that mimic coordinated battlefield maneuversTo the untrained eye, their matches resemble a polite naval engagement conducted inside a bubble of water. To their fans, it is poetry. The Manatriggers play out of a spot in the Golmore Jungle, near the reclaimed docks of Gangos. Their arena, The Queen's Stadium, is a marvel of reclaimed imperial technology—an enormous suspended sphere stabilized by retrofitted magitek projectors salvaged from the ruins of Castrum Lacus Litore. The dome hums with barely-contained power. Spectators swear they can feel the static in their teeth when the team captain winds up for a signature move. Before every match, fans count down from thirteen (a nod to Bozja’s ill-fated past) before the team surges into the water in a synchronized aether burst. This is called The Trigger Count.
